On December 16, 2015, the Governor signed 2015 Wisconsin Acts 117 and 118 which made a number of important changes to campaign finance registration, reporting, and enforcement effective January 1, 2016, and replaced the Government Accountability Board (GAB) on July 1, 2016 with an Elections Commission and Ethics Commission. Staff has communicated the major changes to campaign finance laws to all registered committees, and to county and municipal clerks, who act as the filing officers for local candidates and referendum committees. Staff will update campaign finance forms, manuals, and other campaign finance materials and post them to this website as they become available.
