Frequently Asked Questions

If you have forgotten your password, click the reset password link on Sunshine. Enter the email address for our account. A link to reset your password will be sent to your email if your account exists. 

Once you have logged into Sunshine, click on your name at the top right and press on Account Settings. From there, you can update your password.

Wait 30 minutes.

Sunshine locks your account after 3 consecutive failed attempts to log in. The system will automatically unlock your account in 30 minutes. If you've forgotten your password, reference the forgot password section for help resetting it. If this is a time sensitive matter during office hours, you can contact Commission staff to be unlocked sooner.


If you will not raise or spend more than $2,500 in a calendar year in the aggregate, you may choose to claim the exemption from filing campaign finance reports. If you do not file for exemption, you must continue to file campaign finance reports. If you wish to file for exemption, log into Sunshine and click View / Change Reg. Information in the left-hand sidebar under your registrant. In the Registrant Exemption Status section, Request Exemption Activation or Extension, as applicable. You will then need to complete the Two Factor Authentication to confirm your identity.
